VOR Annual GALA Dinner

Dedicated to serving God through helping refugees stabilize, integrate, and thrive throughout Southern California, VOICE OF REFUGEES (VOR) is a beacon of hope for over 500 families who have resettled from countries of war, violence, and persecution. We warmly invite you to join us at our Gala Dinner on September 19th at the Alta Vista Country Club to help support those families. This special evening is not only a celebration of the incredible resilience and achievements of the refugee families whom we serve, but also a crucial fundraiser to sustain and expand our vital programs.

Donate your time and talent

Everybody can volunteer and invest their time and talent in serving others. It takes a decision to love your neighbor who is rebuilding their lives from ground up. When you donate your time and talent, you will help VOR provide essential services to refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants (such as food packing, giving rides, teaching ESL, helping with resume building…etc). Moreover, when you sign up, you will learn about all the events that we host on regular basis (such as family picnics, youth workshops, Women’s Day, Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas events…etc). Your help in programs, services, and events is greatly appreciated!

WAIT, THERE’S MORE – We need volunteers to help with graphic design, website maintenance, event planning, fundraising, and partner relations. VOR is a small organization and we depend on volunteers to help with everything, just like the Gala Dinner we are inviting you to. Being privately funded, we try as much as possible to rely on time and talent of our volunteers to direct our resources towards services that will help the refugee family Stabilize, Integrate, and Thrive in their new home.

Take part in doubling your donations through giving towards the matching gift of $30,000 to support the efforts of helping new refugees receive furniture, food, and household items. Your donation will be matched a dollar for a dollar – Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

INVEST in bringing HOPE!

Goal: $68,000 (Amount Raised $24,500)

Give towards equipping 800 refugees in 2023: ESL and U.S. cultural awareness, academic tutoring for children, continuing education, job mentoring, and driving lessons. Invest in the livelihood of refugees.
